As a family, we are presently living in Vancouver, Washington in the USA. We arrived here in September 1996. We were in South Africa in July and August of that year, after spending nine months in England helping a church on the Isle of Wight. We received a call from one of the leaders of Turning Point Christian Center in Vancouver. He inquired whether we would come and assist them, as they had just been through a very difficult period and were without a Pastor. Amanda and I prayed and the Lord directed us to come.

Our ministry at Turning Point began as a six-month commitment, but we subsequently added another twelve months. I assumed the role of Interim Senior Pastor and worked very closely with their existing leadership. The church has recently selected a permanent Senior Pastor. Our objective as Interim Senior Pastor was to lay a solid foundation for the new Pastor to build upon. In the past year, we have established a successful cell group ministry and have focused on prayer and caring for one another. The church is now experiencing great unity, excitement, and is poised for growth and much blessing.

During the past two and a half years because of all the traveling and the nature of our ministry, Amanda has been home-schooling our three daughters Tahlie, Chadae and Shimei. On our return from a trip to South Africa in August 1997 we put the girl's in local schools here in Vancouver. Initially they were a little nervous (as we were), but as time went on they settled in wonderfully and they are doing very well. We live in a beautiful townhouse very close to the schools.

The Pacific Northwest is probably one of the most beautiful areas in the world. We are surrounded by magnificent snow-capped mountains and lush evergreen forests. We are very close to mount St. Helens which erupted in May of 1980 and the majestic mount Hood where some of the finest ski resorts are situated. The children enjoy going to the Pacific Ocean, which is only about two hours' drive away.

Our commitment with Turning Point Christian Center is completed at the end of May 1998. At the end of March I will be going to England to minister for a week and some time between February and May I am hoping to make a trip to the East coast to speak at a number of churches. After May we believe God will be leading us to assist other churches in need. The family plans to be based here in the Northwest for a time. We will still be a part of the Turning Point Christian Center. We are presently residing in North Idaho.

The Lord has given me an opportunity to produce some artwork in the short time we have been here and we are hoping that my work can become as well-known, as in South Africa.
